So much has happened in the last week I thought I'd write it down, as much for my own sake as anything else! For this year's charity book, I have photographed 4 of the 5 participants and once I have visited the blacksmith (hopefully in July) I can then finish the design and layout and have the 200 books printed.
Because I've had such great feedback on the project and because I've enjoyed the process so much, I've decide to continue it indefinitely which has of course meant I needed to find new participants. Thanks to the great help I've had from my friend Wendy I now already have several people signed up for the next stage of the project. In no particular order I will over the next few months be visiting a premium leather goods maker, a trug maker (wooden baskets), a lady who makes amazing items from copper, a textiles producer, a letterpress printer and a specialist jewellery maker. The great thing is I can now show potential new participants the project so far and this is helping me to get in the door, so to speak.
I'd like to thank all of the family and friends, both on and offline who've supported me so far and I can't wait to finish this year's book, you've all been fantastic.
