It's been over 3 months since I've been out properly with a camera (it's a long story…) so I decided to throw myself in at the deep end last night. 90 minutes walking around Soho and Chinatown using only the very old lens my brother gave me a while back, a late 1970's Yashica 50mm f2. I bought a cheap Fuji adaptor for using it with my X-E1 and went for it - wide open at f2 and attempting manual focussing with focus peaking turned on. I'm not going to pretend it was easy, while I loved the feel of focussing with this lens actually achieving focus wasn't easy, hindered by peaking being white only on the X-E1. I did however end up with a few shots I was pleased with once I'd worked on them a little (a little grain was added in Lightroom). They're nothing really other than proving that I can still enjoy photography sometimes.
